When my son was an infant, I joined a local meetup group for moms. Most of us had tiny people up to a year old, and when I got to know some of these other moms I kept hearing the same thing over and over and over:
“I’m dreading going back to work.”
“I wish I could stay home with my little guy forever.”
“I would love to work from home, but I don’t know what I could do.”
“I’d love to start a business but I don’t know what I’m good at.”
“We don’t have the money to start a business.”
“I have no idea where to start.”
And every time I heard one of these sentences I kept thinking to myself DO WHAT I DO! Look at the Virtual Assistant industry! I’m so busy I can hardly keep my head above water! The work is relatively easy! It’s profitable! You get to work from home and raise your babies!
And it hardly costs a cent to start up.
So yeah, it was during those walks with other moms that Moms Who Mean Business was born. I kept listening to my new friends, and new moms that joined the group, and I started to pull together the information they were looking for. After all, I had been exactly where they were, and I had already done it all, so I knew exactly what they were talking about and what it was they were after. I had already done all of that research, and put it into practice. And successfully! I had a thriving business and I was still only working during naps and evenings & weekends.
Here’s the thing. I know what it’s like to be a mom – a first-time mom – without much support. And I kept trying to be that supportive friend to new moms by bringing meals or coffee but I’m just not that great in those areas. I mean, I had a new little one myself and I was operating a business – I barely had time to make dinner for myself! (And besides, I’m not that great a cook anymore!). And so then I realized I could totally help in the best way I knew how – showing them how to start a business. Giving them the play-by-play on how I did it for myself. How I could cut two years out of it by creating this super-affordable product that lays it all out for them. That offers a checklist so they have bullet points of next steps. Something that gives them worksheets to fill out so they have the foundation started by the time they finish listening to it. Adding in a couple of bonuses to explain the basics of Search Engine Optimization so they don’t get overwhelmed in the sea of data out there (plus, as a mom, WHO HAS TIME?) and another bonus to talk about pricing strategy and setting rates for services. This is how I can help and support other moms who, like me, just want to stay at home with their babies – yet still want to participate financially in their households.
And so “How to Start A Virtual Assistant Business” was born. 6 low-to-no cost strategies for starting off on the right foot.
This is for moms who want to stay at home with their babies. For women who want to leave the workforce but have no idea where to start. It’s for anyone who is new to the online world and is maybe overwhelmed with the whats and the hows of starting a home-based, service-based business. It explains the bare-boned basics of how to get started with setting up a business. Here’s a bit of what you’ll find in the audio package and accompanying checklists, worksheets and bonuses:
- How to find your specialty, or niche service offering
- How to define your target market – and more importantly, your Ideal Client
- Info on registering a business name, or marketing yourself as an independent contractor
- Tips to choosing a domain name, purchasing a hosting package and what I think is THE most effective platform to showcase your business online (what will power your website – and help you build it easily and quickly!)
- I’m giving FULL access to my “little black book” of free (yay for free!) applications I use every day to fuel my business and keep me on track (and sane!)
- Search Engine Optimization explained in just a few minutes (I used these tips to increase my client roster by 200% in 3 weeks!)
- Insights and advice in regards to setting your pricing structure
- How to get paid to learn the biz.
I’m basically laying my start up tactics out in black and white. It took me 2 years of this sort of research and trials & tribulations to build my business – let me save you the time it took me, and just show you how to do it all yourself. All here, in one product. Where the heck was this when I was starting out?
This product is not for the tech-savvy mommy who already has a website or an online presence or business. These truly are the bare-boned basics of business start up. (I’ll have something for you kind of mommies later on!)
You’ll finish the recordings and worksheets feeling confident in taking the next step to your dream of having a home-based business. You’ll have the knowledge of exactly where to start and what to do next, and a toolkit of apps and action items needed to build and grow a successful business. You’ll have the worksheets (make sure to do the homework!) which, when filled out, will basically tell you who your market is and the EXACT client you will want to attract. All with no overhead and no capital investment.
Good times.
This won’t break the bank sister. And that’s what it’s about. If you’re not happy with the product, just drop me a note and you’ll get your money back. 100%. No questions asked.
What’s not to love? How easy is that? Take your life by the reigns. Start a business from your home. Build an empire.
Be there to see your kids grow up.
